Dear Radio Friend,     This week's show features stories from NHK Japan, Radio Havana Cuba, and  Sputnik Radio.http://www.outfarpress.com/swr190208.mp3        From JAPAN- Vietnamese people are pleased that the second US North Korea summit will be held in their country. Honda Motor will team up with a Chinese company to develop batteries for electric vehicles- Honda plans to launch 20 models of electric cars in China by 2025. The mayor of Nagasaki urged the US and Russia to keep their nuclear weapons treaty alive and avoid a new nuclear arms race. Russia alleges that the US has been developing intermediate range missiles in violation of the treaty. US government scientists have announced that 2018 was the 4th hottest on record for the earth, with the hottest 5 years began 5 years ago.        From CUBA- UK Labor party leader Jeremy Corbyn said that intervention in Venezuela and sanctions against the Maduro were wrong- the UK government has approved the US attempted regime change. A meeting of the anti-socialist Lima Group met in Canada and barred Latin American primary broadcaster Telesur from attending along with Russian news agency Sputnik. Bolivia and Mexico along with other Latin American representatives are meeting in Uruguay to dialogue and attempt to negotiate a peaceful resolve to the crisis in Venezuela. Venezuela lashed out at some member states of the EU for their move to recognize Juan Guaido as leader, accusing them of supporting a coup. A Viewpoint on peace in Latin America- Mike Pence and John Bolton have made clear threats of military intervention in Venezuela and an American takeover of the oil industry.        From RUSSIA- Afshin Rattansi interviewed American broadcaster Jimmy Dore on the current state of propaganda. First a critique of The Guardian UK which has been claiming that Paul Manafort met 3 times with Julian Assange at the Ecuadorian embassy which Assange absolutely denies. Dore then accuses NBC and MSNBC of bending to corporate and US government pressure in reporting, with the result that they always have a pro-interventionist stance. Phil Donahue and Ed Shultz were fired for not following dictates, and most of the US left have become purveyors of a Red Scare. And the corporate media is normalizing the proposed coup in Venezuela.             The latest Shortwave Report (February 8) is up at the website http://www.outfarpress.com/shortwave.shtml  in 3 forms- (new) HIGHEST QUALITY (160kb)(33MB), broadcast quality (13MB), and quickdownload or streaming form (6MB) (28:59) Links at page bottom   (If you have access to Audioport there is a highest quality version posted up there {33MB} http://www.audioport.org/index.php?op=producer-info&uid=904&nav=&) PODCAST!!!- feed://www.outfarpress.com/podcast.xml  (160kb Highest Quality) NEW ARTICLE about the Shortwave Report in the Boulder Weekly by Gavin Dahl-http://npaper-wehaa.com/boulder-weekly/2015/03/26/#?article=2478097 links for this week's edition- <  http://www.outfarpress.com/swr190208.mp3  > (33 MB) HIGHEST QUALITY<  http://www.outfarpress.com/swr_02_08_19.mp3   > (13 MB) Broadcast Quality<  http://www.outfarpress.com/swr_02_08_19_24.mp3  > (6 MB) Slow Modem streamingWebsite Page- < http://www.outfarpress.com/shortwave.shtml >       ¡FurthuR!      Dan Roberts "The United States needs to stay out of Venezuela.
