DC, March 30-April 5: Spring Days of Action (SOA Watch)

We will hold a People's Movement Assembly to allow the voices from within the movement to set the agenda, not only for the week of action, but for the months leading up to the November Vigil as well. (Sunday 3/30, 12 PM - 4:15 PM @ ECAC, 733 Euclid St. NW, Washington D.C. 20001)

-We'll have a concert pa' el pueblo at Acre 121 from 8-11 pm, featuring Bocafloja Quilombo-Oficial, Olmeca Musik, Rebel Diaz, Fenomedon, and other artists. (Sunday 3/30, 8-11:30 PM @ Acre 121, 1400 Irving St. NW, Washington DC 20010): www.facebook.com/events/1457528251143297/

-We will convene two skill-share workshops: Grassroots Lobbying and Grassroots/Youth Organizing & Direct Action (Monday 3/31, 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM @ The United Methodist Building, 100 Maryland Ave. NE, Washington, DC 20002)

-We'll take to the streets in a public demonstration aimed at outreach to the local community and messaging directed at two important power players in Washington. We will gather at Union Station and take 15 minute metro ride together for dynamic action with music and speakers in Takoma Park. (Monday 3/31, 5-8 PM)

-We will call for justice for Chilean folk-hero Victor Jara, remembering him at a special event at the University of Maryland. (Thursday 4/3, 5:30-8:30 PM @ 0200 Skinner Hall, University of Maryland, College Park, MD)

- We will participate in the National Day of Action Against Deportations (Saturday 4/5, 2 PM @ White House)

-We will use grassroots mobilizing power to pressure our elected officials to sign on to the bill to investigate and suspend the SOA/WHINSEC, and thank those 46 members of Congress who have already co-sponsored HR 2989 the Latin America Military Review Act. (When: all week, but mostly Tuesday, 4/1)
