On Monday the Catalan parliament elected the pro-independence candidate Quim Torra to be its regional president. Quim was favored by exiled president Puigdemont who remains in custody in Germany.

The Chinese and North Korean Foreign Ministers met to discuss the inter-Korean summit.

The Mexican government has announced it is increasing the number of federal police currently guarding Mexico's southern border to prevent the flow undocumented immigrants from Central America.

Another 1400 people were injured by Israeli troops while a fence separated them. This year is the 70th anniversary of Nakba, "Day of the Catastrophe," the day commemorating the Israeli seizure of Palestinian towns and villages.

In Geneva, a  senior North Korean official called on the US to halt sanctions and pressure against the country. North Korean leader Kim Jong-un visited Chinese President Xi Jinping and told him he wanted to denuclearize the Korean peninsula.

Kurds and friends of YPG/YPJ protest at Turkish Embassy

On the 24th of March, Kurds and allied supporters of the YPG/YPJ protested in front of the Turkish Embassy against the bombing and invasion of Afrin and Turkish threats to invade all of Kurdistan. After the rally, the column marched past the Turkish Ambassador's residence, scene of the May 16, 2018 assault by Erdogan's security goons.
