Climate first! protests Wells Fargo's Keystone XL/TransCanada investments

On the 20th of April, Climate First! staged what may be the first snowflake of the coming avalanche of protests in DC against Trump's reborn Keystone XL tar sands pipeline. Two branches of Wells Fargo, one of the banks financing TransCanada were targetted. As 17th and Penn, activists got inside to deliver a letter. The second branch at 18th and K sts locked their doors.

Massive "Tax March" demands trump release his tax returns

On the 15th of April, thousands marched past Trump Hotel in DC to demand that Donald Trump release his tax returns, especially before any Congressional consideration of his "tax reform" package that might be designed to benefit him directly. A mock Trump "released" his tax returns in front of the Capitol-shredded.Similar marches took place in cities all over the US.

"Tax March Chicken" at Trump Hotel demands Trump release his tax returns

On the 14th of April, the "Tax March Chicken" appeared at Trump Hotel on the eve of the April 15th Tax March. Both the Tax March Chicken and the April 15th march are demanding that Trump release his tax returns so people can see what he is hiding.

MD General Assembly passes fracking ban backed by Governor

On Monday, the 27th of March, the MD General Assembly gave final approval to legislation permanently banning gas fracking in MD. The bill now moves to the governor's desk for signature. Given that it was support from Gov Hogan (under intense public pressure) that got the bill moving in the Senate, the governor is expected to sign the bill into law. This will make MD the 3rd state to ban fracking, in direct defiance of Trump's pro fossil fuel agenda.

Oil loaded into Dakota Access pipeline, Standing Rock Sioux seeking court ordered stop

Update:Norway’s DNB Bank dumps Dakota Access Pipeline.

On the 28th of March, Energy Transfer Partners LLP loaded oil into the section of the Dakota Access pipeline under Lake Oahe. They are preparing to put the finished pipeline into service, no doubt delayed by repairs to last week's sabotage damage. The Standing Rock Sioux are not done fighting either: they are seeking court decisions to halt the flow of oil under the Missouri River and protect their water from contamination.
