Chelsea Manning released as 2nd grand jury disbands

Chelsea Manning has just been released from jail after defeating the second grand jury to attempt to question her. Any attempt to subpeona her to a 3ed grand jury will now run afound of coronavirus restrictions on court activities. Oddly, this release cooincides with a suicide attempt and a Federal judge had to order her release, raising questions about whether the Feds intended to keep her locked up unlawfully after the grand jury expired

Vigil held in Columbia Heights for likely innocent man executed in Alabama

On the 9th of march, opponents of the death penalty and racist Alabama "justice" system held a vigil to remember Nathaniel Woods. He was executed for a 2004 killing of three cops in a crackhouse in spite of another person being convicted of the same killing stating he acted alone and flat-out evidence of innocence.

Kremlin Annex protesters still at H st to avoid paid sound permit requirement

On the 5th of March, the Kremlin Annex protesters were out again, this time with their lighted letters condemning Trump for minimizing the covid-19 coronavirus mess. Due to the Park Service's recent demands for a PAID sound permit, they were again on the H St sidewalk.

Statement by Venezuelan Embassy Protectors After Mistrial

The trial of the Embassy Protection Collective ended in a mistrial, after the jury deadlocked. According to the Partnership for Civil Justice, "Having spent outrageous sums of taxpayers $$ in overkill fed court prosecution of a misdemeanor case & heavily restricting the defense the jury could hear, Trump's DC Attys Office was still unable to convict."

Anti-torture protesters march on Trump Hotel demanding closure of Guantanimo Bay

The 11 of January, 2020 was the 18th annniversary of the opening of the gates of Hell at Guantanimo Bay by George W Bush. Protesters marched to Trump Hotel bearing nine coffins for nine detainees who have died there, and one more for whoever is next to die from the atrocious conditions at Gitmo. Trump has vowed nobody will be released from there no matter what.

MPD solicits sex from, assaults DC activist

At about 2AM on the 4th of January, an MPD decoy targetting customers of sex workers first solicited sex themselves from an area activist, then resorted to potentially deadly force when their sting operation blew up into a chase. This was the 5th in a month-long series of harassment incidents by area police depts and their allies against the core crew of the activist in question.

On New Year's Eve 2019-2020, supporters of imprisoned grand jury resistors Jeremy Hammond and Chelsea Manning protested outside the Alexandria Detention Center. It has been confirmed that the noisemakers were heard and the protest seen from the inside. Protesters deployed fireworks, flares, and a laser in addition to noisemakers.

BLM marches on FOP for Atatiana Jefferson after rally at MPD

On the 28th of October, Black Lives Matter activists rallied at MPD's headquarters, then marched on the headquarters of the Fraternal Order of Police. They were demanding justice for Atatiana Jefferson and for all other Black women murdered by police.

#JUSTICEFORMONTE rally held in front of PG County Police Station

On the 26th of October, Black Lives Matter activists backed by allies showed up in front of the PG County police station on Barlowe Rd in Landover, MD. They were there to demand that the cops who broke Monte's neck during a traffic stops on Oct 17, the proceeded to break his back too be fired for this outrage. There were rumblings the cops would respond with the SWAT unit, instead they mostly stayed inside in shame.
