"Stop the Mandates" antivax rally includes Proud Boys, looks like a Trump rally

On the 23ed of January, thousands of anti-vaxxers as well as anti-vaccine mandate protesters descended on the Lincoln Memorial. While billed as opposing mandates, much of the imagery and speeches targetted the vaccines themselves. Present in the rally were religious extremists, the Proud Boys, and even a few people displaying swastikas. The overall event resembled a Trump rally.

On the 21st of January, the neo-Nazi/open Fascist group Patriot Front attempted to sieze the lead position in the antichoice/forced birth "March for Life." At first they marched forward while MPD bike cops pushed back anti-Fascist and pro-choice counterprotesters. Soon, however, they had to withdraw to the sidewalk and make a left turn out of the march.

Proud Boys Chairman Enrique Tarrio threatens DC Jail upon release

On the 14th of January, Proud Boys chairman Enrique Tarrio was released from DC Jail. Reuters published a photo showing him in a T-shirt saying "Free the Proud Boys by any means necessary" and showing a man with a rifle.

Update: Direct action made it difficult for Patriot Front to escape DC after their last march

Just over a month ago, Patriot Front's (PF)march on DC has heckled all the way back to their Arlington Cemetary pickup point. Instead of the expected three U-haul trucks they expected to ride out in, there was only one. The other two were out of action. PF claims they were destroyed by an opposing anti-Fascist strike team. Note that Patriot Front intends to return to DC on Jan 21 for the forced-birth march

Jan 6, 2022 was the anniversary of the storming of the US Capitol by a mob of Nazis and Trump supporters same day last year. Fascists returned to DC in small numbers, marching on the DC Jail for their prisoners awaiting trial for the attempt to overturn the 2020 election by force. A few miles away, a coalition of over 100 groups held an opposing rally vowing never to let fascists install an open dictatorship in the US.

On the 4th of December, the explicitly fascist group "Patriot Front" again marched into DC with zero advance publicity, hoping to avoid anti-Fascist counterprotesters. This is not as effective as it used to be. Random DC residents and tourists followed the march, heckling, shouting insults, and running a noisemaker.

On the 18th of September, hundreds of Trump supporters (MAGAts) and assorted fascists held their so-called "justice for J6" rally in front of the US Capitol. Huge numbers of cops protected the Capitol from them, and them from the general public. One counterprotest was held up close, and a larger one at Freedom Plaza

Update Sep 21: It is being reported that the man arrested with a gun was an off-duty CBP officer. CBP officers of course are fascists-their core job is racial enforcement. Same shit as at J6.

Raw Video shot by John Zangas of the situation at the DC Jail when fascists and MAGAts (Trump supporters) showed up at DC Jail on July 17 2021. They were there to protest rough treatment their folks detained there have gotten as payback for the rough treatment the Capitol and its defenders got on Jan 6. Not suprisingly, white nationalists held in a jail where both inmates and guards are people of color are having a tough time.

On the 27th of July, reps Marjorie Taylor Greene, Matt Gaetz, and several others from the MAGAt wing of the GOP attempted to hold a press conference in front of the Dept of Justice concerning the January 6 assault on the US Capitol and apparently on ensuing legal cases. Anti-Trump protesters shut them down cold, forcing an end to the press conference.
