Protesters rally at State Dept against US intervention in Haiti

As Haiti's President attempts to stay in power beyond the end of his term (Trump-style), the US as always is supporting all efforts to keep wages down and multinational garment factories (e.g Hanes Underwear) profitable. On the 29th of March, major protests against plans to replace Haiti's constitution were supported by a solidarity protest at the US Dept of State.

On the 27th of March, Extinction Rebellion-DC first took a mock pipeline/Black Snake into Chase Bank, then dumped mock "oil" on the sidewalk outside the bank.Chase Bank, like Citibank and Bank of America (also called out on March 27) is a major funder of Enbridge, builder of the "Line 3 replacement" pipeline threatening to destroy Chippewa land in Minnesota.

ANSWER holds Stop Asian Hate rally at Chinatown arch

On the 27th of March, another round of Stop Asian Hate protests were held all over the so-called United States. One of them was ANSWER's DC rally under the Chinatown arch between 6th and 7th st NW on H st, site of so many Black Lives Matter protests in the past. Again the subject is people being killed for the color of their skin, anti-Asian hate crimes and murders have skyrocketed in the past year.

On the 26th of March, tenants of the Woodner, the Oaklawn, and other Van Metre properties protested in front of their buildings demanding back rent and rent be cancelled in the face of the majority of tenants losing their jobs to the COVID-19 pandemic. While tenants starve, Ms Woodner rides $100,000 horses and sponsors art shows!

MoCo county exec Marc Elrich agrees to climate demands after home demo

On the 24th of March, student climate activists showed up at Montgomery County executive Marc Elrich's house, demanding the County replace a verbose but useless climate "action" plan with on-the-ground, real policy changes. A stay-behind team from XR-MoCo confronted him after the protest as he tried to enter his car-and he agreed to present a list of specific proposals to the Council before March 31.

Stop Asian Hate march demands end to racist attacks

On the 21st of March, protesters responding to the March 16 murders in Atlanta filled McPherson Square before marching first to Black Lives Matter Plaza, then to the famous Chinatown arch. The shooting spree culminates a year of rising anti-Asian hate crimes as white supremacists exploit the covid pandemic.

Streets Calling Bike Club holds Breonna Taylor memorial ride

On the 1 year anniversary of Breonna Taylor's murder by Louisville, KY cops, Streets Calling Bike Club held a 6 mile memorial ride for her. The ride was jointly held with the Saturday Night Bike Club.The six miles were one mile for each of the shots fired by the police that stormed her apartment and opened fire in a drug raid aimed at someone else.

DC climate activists, Indigenous activists protest Enbridge Line 3 at Corps of Engineers

On the 12th of March, Anishinaabe and other Indigenous activists protested Enbridge's Line 3 "replacement" pipeline all over the US. They were backed up by climate and anti-pipeline activists. One of these protests was in Washington DC at the headquarters of the US Army Corps of Engineers, without whose permit the pipeline cannot be built.

Spaces in Action hold International Women's Day rally on Mall

The Monday, March 8 DC International Women's Day rally by Spaces in Action prominantly featured the demand for "one fair wage" at $15 an hour. The centerpiece of the rally featured the slogan "fight don't starve."

Breaking: Fascists no-show on Capitol Hill on March 4

For all the bluster from Qanon fools about storming the Capitol for a second time on March 4 and reinstalling Trump in the White House, nothing happened. The Washington Post called the threats a "mirage." This was the third no-show in a row for Trump's Fascist movement in DC: Jan 17, Jan 20(Biden's Inauguration), and now March 4 were all failures to appear on their part. Seems they lost on Jan 6 and know it.
