The Shortwave Report 10/26/18 Listen Globally!

Dear Radio Friend,     This week's show features stories from Spanish national Radio, Radio Deutsche-Welle, Radio Havana Cuba, and Sputnik Radio.  http://www.outfarpress.com/swr181026.mp3        From SPAIN- Alison Hughes and Panorama are back on SNR. Here is a series of Spanish newspaper reviews, beginning with European reaction to the Khashoggi case, with Germany alone putting arms sales to Saudi Arabia on hold. Russia warns the US about withdrawing from the nuclear weapons limitation treaty, and exiled Catalan leader Puigdemont is called on by other politicians for approval of the 2019 budget.        From GERMANY- Trump claims that the US cannot afford to stop arm sales to Saudi Arabia, but reporters here question the statistics he uses at rallies to justify the sales. News about the caravan of migrants from Honduras to the US has been very popular on social media, but much of it is clearly disinformation, like Trump's tweets.        From CUBA- More on Trump's tweets about the dangerous caravan from Honduras, and how he will cut aid to several Central American countries if they are not stopped. The President-elect of Mexico will ask US and Canada to allocate resources to boost development in Central America which would control the waves of migrants. The Mexican Secretary of the Interior revealed that Trump offered them $20 million in private funds to stop the Honduran caravan. Brazil's Supreme Electoral Court was threatened by the son of right-wing presidential candidate Bolsonaro if they interfere with the election this weekend.        From RUSSIA- Sophie Shevardnadze interviewed Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson former Chief of Staff to Colin Powell about the US goals in Syria and Iran. He says that Trump is unpredictable because of the influence of neo-con John Bolton and Mike Pompeo. He says that the neo-cons and Israel are pushing for perpetual war and focusing on regime change in Iran. He says that calling Iran the greatest state sponsor of terrorism is an outright lie, the title belongs to Saudi Arabia.             The latest Shortwave Report (October 26) is up at the website http://www.outfarpress.com/shortwave.shtml  in 3 forms- (new) HIGHEST QUALITY (160kb)(33MB), broadcast quality (13MB), and quickdownload or streaming form (6MB) (28:59) Links at page bottom   (If you have access to Audioport there is a highest quality version posted up there {33MB} http://www.audioport.org/index.php?op=producer-info&uid=904&nav=&) PODCAST!!!- feed://www.outfarpress.com/podcast.xml  (160kb Highest Quality) NEW ARTICLE about the Shortwave Report in the Boulder Weekly by Gavin Dahl-http://npaper-wehaa.com/boulder-weekly/2015/03/26/#?article=2478097 links for this week's edition- <  http://www.outfarpress.com/swr181026.mp3  > (33 MB) HIGHEST QUALITY<  http://www.outfarpress.com/swr_10_26_18.mp3   > (13 MB) Broadcast Quality<  http://www.outfarpress.com/swr_10_26_18_24.mp3  > (6 MB) Slow Modem streamingWebsite Page- < http://www.outfarpress.com/shortwave.shtml >       ¡FurthuR!      Dan Roberts "We must reconstitute the natural world as the true terrain of politics. We must draw our standards from our natural world, heedless of ridicule, and reaffirm its denied validity. We must honor with the humility of the wise the bounds of that natural world and the mystery which lies beyond them, admitting that there is something in the order of being which evidently exceeds all our competence."--Vaclav Havel Dan RobertsShortwave Report- www.outfarpress.comYouthSpeaksOut!- www.youthspeaksout.net
