"Dreamers" protest at White House against Trump's deportation plans

On the 25th of August, migrant rights advocates showed up in front of the White House demanding that Trump not unilaterally end the DACA (Deferred Action on Childhood Arrivals) program. About 800, 000 young people have been protected from deportation by this program, which shields from deportation may who were brought here as children.

Within hours of this protest, Donald Trump showed his utter contempt for people of color and his love of white supremacy by pardoning racist former Maricopa County, AZ Sheriff Joe Arpaio, infamous for explicitly racist police patrols. Arpaio was convicted of contempt of court for publicly defying a court order to stop racial profiling.

When Donald Trump "won" the election, many migrant activists warned people who had not already registered for DACA's protections not to do so, on the grounds that doing so would give away their identities and addresses to ICE, which under Trump would seek to deport them. So far this has been prevented, possibly by the storm of resistance since January that has taken so much wind out of Donald Trump's sails. If this resistance fails and Trump ends DACA, about 800,000 young people who are known to ICE will be exposed to possible immediate roundup and deportation. Trump has stated he wants to deport possibly as many as 12 MILLION people.
