Mock statue of liberty set up at US Citizenship and Immigration "Service"

On the 14th of August, opponents of Trump's racist pogrom against migrants set up a mock Statue of Liberty outside the Mass Ave offices of the US Citizenship and Immigration "Service." The statue bore an inscription welcoming migrants in many languages at the base. Security removed the statue after USCIS acting director Ken Cuccinelli took a selfie with it, carefully cropping out the inscription at the base welcoming migrants

Trump's ICE raids end in humiliating defeat

On the 23ed of July, ICE announced that their repeatedly-delayed "family operation" had netted only 35 arrests (and only 18 from the target list) out of 2,100 people listed as targets. Trump had threatened "millions" would be rounded up and sent to ICE's concentration camps. His own tweets though stirred up a firestorm of interference and direct action, and the "family operation" ended as a humiliating defeat for Trump

Protesters invoking "Never Again" surround, blockade and enter ICE headquarters

On the 16th of July, protesters from Never Again Action, Jews against ICE, and Movimiento Cosecha blocked every dooryway into ICE headquarters on 12th street and the streets outside. In addition, 12 protesters entered the building and reportedly were the only protesters arrested in this day of direct action against ICE and concentration camps. Jewish activists explicitly tied Trump's concentration camps to those used by the Nazis during WWII, using talking points like "Never Again means NOW!"

ICE agents spotted "canvassing" Van Dorn and Sanger neighborhood

On the 15th of July, ICE (Trump's racial purity police) were seen "canvassing" the area of Van Dorn and Sanger in Alexandria, VA. They may have captured one person but disappeared no more than an hour after their presence was publicized on social media. Surely they had many more targets, but may have been scared away by potential community response once their presence was publicized.

Here in DC, the American Federation of Teachers sent a feeder march, and the DC Bike Party stopped by, with most riders dismounting and walking past in solidarity. Comparisons were made my many protesters to Hitler's camps, Trump too being considered a fascist.

Hundreds march in Columbia Heights 1 week after "delayed" ICE raid

Not all of Trump's racial purity roundups originally scheduled for June 22-23 were delayed. ICE is known to have taken two parents into custody in DC on Saturday, June 22. Unknown how many others exercised their right to not open their doors without a warrant signed by a judge. At the same time the following Saturday (June 29), hundreds marched from Columbia Heights to Adams-Morgan demanding ICE out of DC and zero cooperation with ICE from MPD and the DC government.
