Extinction Rebellion holds evening "truth blasting parade" against oil/gas pipelines

On the 29th of July, Extinction Rebellion DC held an evening "truth blasting parade" in traffic. The march demanded that Biden's administraton reject new oil and gas pipelines such as Enbridge's Line 3 project.

As the march proceeded through Adams-Morgan and surrounding areas, Indigenous folks in town from the earlier Totem Pole delivery event noticed the march and some joined in. This was seen as solidarity with hard-pressed Indigneous campaigns against the pipelines, where police agression and even use of private military contractors have become issues. The march ended at 9th and u sts-right in front of Nellie's Sports Bar, which has sat nearly empty since reopening. It was at Nellies that a Black woman was dragged down the stairs by her hair over Pride weekend, and protests have dogged them ever since.
