FCC "People's Firewall" occupation extended until May 15 vote on Internet toll lanes

The occupation of the area around FCC headquarters has been extended until the May 15 vote on net neutrality or the Chairman's proposal to do away with it. On that day a larger noise demonstration will take place at 9AM outside the FCC, to ensure the voice of the people is heard inside.

Meanwhile activists have pitched a tent and are camping on-site until May 15th. If Comcast and Verizon intend to occupy the Internet, why can't net neutrality activists occupy the FCC?

The FCC is scheduled to vote on allowing "paid prioritization" of bandwidth on May 15, but it is looking increasigly likely that it will be taken off the agenda for further study of the net neutrality issue.That is a win, as it would precent net neutrality from being summarily executed on the 15th of May.

Even the Washington Post now reports that the proposal to permit Google, Netflix, and other big money companies to buy premium bandwidth at the expense of all other websites is now in serious trouble. Opposition ranges from a groundswell of public opposition, to the protesters camping outside the FCC's doors, to some of the commissioners inside the FCC. The small and medium size Internet companies are furious at the FCC as well.
