Trump to take Portland snatch squad tactics national?

Since protests have gone hot and heavy every night in Portland for over 50 days, Trump has deployed unmarked Federal snatch squads to grab people off the streets. This has been condemned even by the Washington Post, yet another snatch squad kidnapping occurred on the 19th of July. Ken Cuccinelli has stated that these unmarked Federal jackbooted thugs will now be used nationwide.

Also on the 19th of March, a contingent of mothers (possibly of younger protesters) deployed to the streets of Portland to directly confront uniformed Federal cops also on the streets. They chanted "Moms are hers, Feds stay clear!" They were threatened with violence and arrests of course.

While Oregon and Portland authorities are making a huge public show of ordering Trump's Gestapo out of their city and state, these orders are being defied and are amounting to nothing more than empty Tweets. These statements are best compared to DC Mayor Bowser's murel she had painted on Black Lives Matter Plaza as she took over the job of trying to disperse and terrorise protesters from the troops Trump had on the streets of DC the first week of the protests here.

Liberals (and even some conservatives) on Twitter have suggested deploying the state National Guard to forcibly confine these thugs to Federal property, but that is unlikely to work if there are too many Trump supporters in the local National Guard. There have been suggestions of using City or State police for this, but asking them to fight for the very protesters targetting them is also unlikely to work. Both of these suggestions sound nice but involve trying to get the local foxes to defend the chicken coop against out-of-area coyotes. Of course, Trump may find that one thing protesters are NOT is "a coop full of chickens!"

In Portland, the jackbooted thugs in question have proven to be Customs and Border Patrol agents with identifying markings removed, and like Mafia kidnappers have been dragging people into rental vans. The July 19th kidnapping of a woman at a protest involved threats to shoot any protesters who dared to follow the van. Typically these "arrests" have involved driving someone around in the van or to a holding facility only to release them hours later after they refuse to answer questions. This however is how death squads are born.

Speaking of shooting, twitter is rife with remarks that protesters are going to have no choice but to arm themselves and shoot back. Since these are NOT uniformed and marked police officers, they have already been mistaken for fascists or militiamen several times. Some people do NOT run from fascists but instead advance on and pursue them! When this goes to guns it may get quite ugly, leading to a shootout by accident. Of course, it's not actually a MISTAKE to identify the secret police deployed by a Fascist (which Trump is) as fascists themselves.

There is also speculation that Trump may be deliberately trying to force people to defend themselves, figuring on using the resulting shootings to justify further crackdowns. Facists historically have not been above sacrificing their own troops. Certainly anything can happen at this point, but when facing something that at any time can turn into death squad activity people cannot allow political considerations to get in the way of protecting their own lives. This is going to be a VERY rough ride, and people may well decide that NOW is the time to get ready.
