United Poultry concerns holds vigil for factory farmed chickens

On the 4th of May, United Poultry Concerns held a vigil in front of the White Housefor chickens imprisoned from birth to death in body sized cages for eggs and meat.

Their main banner asked "What are wings for?" I doubt anyone having wings would consider having them fried and eaten to be a desirable fate, and no: Buffalo do not have wings!

United Poultry Concerns is an animal rights group focussed on the behavior of the egg and meat chicken factory farms. They advise that these factory farms be shut down by boycotting chicken products and all animal products.

I remarked that even cats who eat birds never raise those birds in a cage from the egg, letting them out only once, to be killed and eaten.
