Anti-torture activists demand closure of GITMO in White House protest

On the 23ed of May, the 1 year anniversary of an Obama speech promising to close Guantanimo Bay, torture survivors and peace activists showed up in front of the White House to call Obama out for this repeatedly broken promise. Obama can blame Congress all he wants for keeping GITMO open, but Congress cannot stop him from unilaterally releasing all prisoners into the US by flying them to any military base to be released from there. If Obama gave the GOP one week to approve his proposal or all GITMO detainees are flown to Andrews for release, Congress would have no option but to comply. Video on Archive.org
