Banks get Keystone, Line 3 tar sands pipeline protests, BofA shuts down

On the 11th of December, as Nazi terrorists menaced DC, a courageous band of pipeline warriors assembled in Dupont Circle and marched on DC branches of several banks funding the Keystone XL and Enbridge Line 3 tar sands pipeline. Bank of America shut down their branch in response.
There was an ugly incident while protesters were at Wells Fargo: a motorcycle cop, his attention fixed on the protest, struck and knocked down an uninvolved bicyclist. The bike appeared to escape without damage, the rider was down for several minutes but appeared to recover. Hopefully no delayed injuries resulted.
The Keystone XL menaces Lakota lands, and Enbridge's Line 3 menaces Chippewa land in Minnesota. Enbridge wants to abandon the old Line 3 and build a new pipeline for tar sands oil. The original Line 3 was responsible for one of the largest inland oil spills ever to occur in the so-called "United States." The White Earth, Red Lake, Mille Lacs, Fond du Lac, and Leech Lake Ojibwa (Chippewa) bands are resisting the project in court, much like the better known Keystone XL that so severely threatens the Lakota. The "Black Snake" propecy later so prominent in the DAPL (Dakota Access Pipeline) fight was originally invoked against TransCanada's Keystone XL project, which has been held stopped all the way back to 2011 by stout, unyielding Indigenous and allied opposition.
Bank of America's Dupont Circle branch shut down rather than accept a letter signed by Indigenous women. The branch called corporate offices, which told them to refuse the letter
Wells Fargo accepted the letter, let's hope that is a corporate and not just a branch decision.
