Stephen Skinner is Executive VP and General Managert of the building division of Skanska. Skanska is the construction company currently attempting to build a new underground primate vivisection lab at University of Washington. On the 1st of August, animal rights activists took time off from the Animal Rights 2015 convention to canvass Stephen Skinner's neighbors.

On the evening of July 23, DC Stampede visited Mongomery Villager, MD, home of Martin Sharpless, VP of Skanska USA Building. They found most of his neighbors disapproved of his company's work at University of Washington (state) building a new vivisection laboratory. Four signed letters asking him to drop the contract.It is exceptionally rare in my experience for a home demo to work out this way, I can only remember two prior occasions.

On the 22nd of July, Apache Stronghold rallied in front of the US Capitol to demand passage of HR-2811, the Save Oak Flat Act. This act would reverse the late-night addition of the "SouthEast Arizona Land Exchange" to the 2015 National Defense Authorization Act(NDAA). Three politicians instrumental in addding this totally unrelated rider to transfer sacred Apache land to Resolution Copper LLC for a destructive copper mine to the NDAA were singled out by name and presented as devils in a banner.

On the 8th of July, two men parked a truck with a large Confederate battle flag on the side of Ga Ave on the route to DC from Baltimore. At first the question of Klan activity came up, but on further investigation it appeared they were playing golf.

On the last weekend of June, animal rights activists showed up at the home of Martin Sharpless, VP of Skanska Building, which is trying to build a new vivisection lab at University of Washington (state). Chalked messages were left all over the surrounding streets. Also visited was the Montgomery County, MD office of Skanska Building USA.It is bad enough that Huntingdon Life Sciences(HLS), Covance, and James River Laboratories torture animals every day in the name of so-called "science." Now the University of Washington wants to open a brand new vivisection laboratory.

On the 26th of June, cops and city workers were met with barricades as they arrived to evict a homeless camp under a Baltimore freeway overpass. The campsite is at Martin Luther King Ave and Mulberry st, sheltered by the freeway overpass. On the 23ed of June, the Senate voted to cut off debate on the "fast-track" bill for the TPP, TISA, and TTIP trade treaties. The proposal only needs 50 votes to pass in Wednesday's final vote. Beyond Extreme Energy confronted Sen Dianne Feinstein in her office over her support for TPP fast-track while other activists took up a position on the corner of the Capitol grounds.

On the 13th of June, the Clarendon Cup bicycle race was once again held on a a very tight course laid out on the streets of downtown Clarendon. The winning team and rider were sponsored by United Health Care, notorious for removing all dental coverage from their "community" or Medicaid plan. The race itself was sponsored by the US Air Force, known for guzzling jet fuel.

On the 11th of June, several activists opposing Congressional "fast-track" authority for the TPP trade deal held vigil next to the US Capitol, intending to stay put until the Friday, June 12 vote in the House on the TPP fast-track bill

On the 4th of June, activists began the "Rigged Trade Rebellion" presence on Capitol Hill to oppose passage of "fast-track" for the TPP and other trade deals. This presence will continue every Tuesday and Thursday at Independence and NJ Aves SW.

A Twitter message from Anonymous claims that DC police have been ordered to impose an illegal, de facto curfew on the homeless, arresting them between the hours of midnight and 5 AM. It does not cite a context nor a location. Since there is no legal curfew, these arrests would have to be on made up or spurious "charges of convenience." Alternately they use "evidence" from illegal stop and frisks, known as jumpouts in DC. This kind of spurious arrest was how Freddie Grey got killed.

On the 17th of April, as the Spring Meetings of the IMF and World Bank got underway, a "clown bloc" showed up asking delegates if they would answer on camera "what is the difference between austerity and poverty?" On April 15th, a 61 year old postal worker from Florida attempted to deliver 535 letters to Capitol Hill demanding an end to corporate cash in US politics by gyrocopter. He sucessfully evaded all Washington DC air defenses and landed his aircraft on the West Lawn without damage.

n the 7th of April, power outages cascaded from Charles County, MD through PG County and into Washington DC. WTOP News reported that Homeland Security was inundated with calls asking if "nefarious activity" was to blame, but official blame went to failing equipment in Charles County, MD. The power outages spread all over the area. University of MD lost power. Traffic lights shut down. Metro stations lost power and museums on the Mall were evacuated.
