Maccabe Haifi vs Washington Wizards basketball game draws pro-Palestine protest

On the 15th of October, the Israeli basketball team Macabee Haifi was defeated 105-95 by the Washington Wizards at the Verizon Center. Both inside and outside, protesters denounced Israel's aggression against the people of Palestine. One protester re-used the former name of the Wizards, calling Macabee Haifi the "Israeli Bullets." This protest was part of the cultural boycott of Israel. That boycott, in turn, is part of the Boycott-Divestment-Sanctions campaign inspired by the sucessful campaign that overthrew apartheid in South Africa.

Code Pink protests killer drone exhibit at Air and Space Museum

On the 4th of October, Code Pink showed up at the National Air and Space museum to protest an exhibit of armed drones. The exhibit even includes videogame looking footage of drone bombings with nothing said about what these bombings do to real people on the ground. As the protest continued, the security line to enter the museum grew and grew, extending right around the protest. This provided almost an ideal forum to educate the public about Obama's role as judge, jury, and executioner with these drones.

Antiwar protesters greet Obama's Iraq War speech

On the 10th of September, Obama gave a speech formally announcing the US was return to war in Iraq and now also in Syria, but only from the air supposedly. Antiwar protesters were in front of the White House booing some of his more bellicose words. One of the protesters said Obama wanted to bomb Assad last year, but now wants to join with Assad to bomb Islamic State. Which side is he on in Syria anyway-the chemical weapons side, or the religious extremism side?
