On the last weekend of June, animal rights activists showed up at the home of Martin Sharpless, VP of Skanska Building, which is trying to build a new vivisection lab at University of Washington (state). Chalked messages were left all over the surrounding streets. Also visited was the Montgomery County, MD office of Skanska Building USA.It is bad enough that Huntingdon Life Sciences(HLS), Covance, and James River Laboratories torture animals every day in the name of so-called "science." Now the University of Washington wants to open a brand new vivisection laboratory.

On the 26th of June, cops and city workers were met with barricades as they arrived to evict a homeless camp under a Baltimore freeway overpass. The campsite is at Martin Luther King Ave and Mulberry st, sheltered by the freeway overpass. On the 23ed of June, the Senate voted to cut off debate on the "fast-track" bill for the TPP, TISA, and TTIP trade treaties. The proposal only needs 50 votes to pass in Wednesday's final vote. Beyond Extreme Energy confronted Sen Dianne Feinstein in her office over her support for TPP fast-track while other activists took up a position on the corner of the Capitol grounds.

On the 13th of June, the Clarendon Cup bicycle race was once again held on a a very tight course laid out on the streets of downtown Clarendon. A Twitter message from Anonymous claims that DC police have been ordered to impose an illegal, de facto curfew on the homeless, arresting them between the hours of midnight and 5 AM. It does not cite a context nor a location. Since there is no legal curfew, these arrests would have to be on made up or spurious "charges of convenience." Alternately they use "evidence" from illegal stop and frisks, known as jumpouts in DC. This kind of spurious arrest was how Freddie Grey got killed.

WTOP News reported that Homeland Security was inundated with calls asking if "nefarious activity" was to blame, but official blame went to failing equipment in Charles County, MD. On the 11th of March, Code Pink confronted US Secretary of State John Kerry as he spoke before Congress to support US military intervention both against ISIS and in the Ukraine. Two members of Code Pink were arrested. One point Code Pink was making is that US intervention created ISIS/Daesh, so it stands to reason that more US intervention will produce more terrorism.Code Pink had to specifically remind people over Twitter that being against more US war does not mean supporting Daesh.

On the 5th of March, a "sled free or die" call went out for sledding on the US Capitol West Lawn. US Capitol distributed fliers announcing that sledding was prohibited but as of 2:20PM have yet to make any attempt to back this up with any kind of aggression against the crowd of sled riders.
