WTU rally demands full funding for schools, existing budget has other priorities

On the 25th of April, Washington Teacher's Union showed up at Freedom Plaza demanding the City Council amend the upcoming FY budget to fully fund public schools in all 8 wards. Chelsea still in jail after 4th Circuit Court of Appeals reject appeal and rejects bail

On the 22nd of April, the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals rejected Chelsea Manning's appeal and denied bail, keeping her in jail where she has been since the 9th of March for defying a grand jury's subpeona to snitch on (presumably) Julian Assange and Wikileaks. Of course, a "Grumbles" motion can be tried again at any time, since the root of it is to show that no amount of confinement can get the target to testify, making confinement punitive rather than probative and thus illegal for civil contempt. Only the U$ and Liberia still use grand juries at all.
