DC Stands with Standing Rock Coalition holds night of culture at Busboys and Poets
On the 21st of November, the DC Stands with Standing Rock Coalition held a night of prayer, drumming, singing, and culture in a packed room at Busboys and Poets. This was the day after a brutally violent police rubber bullet and water cannon assault on water defenders at Standing Rock injured almost 200 people.
This quote was given by organizers prior to the Nov 20-21 police attack:
"Every day is Thanksgiving for indigenous people. But the most basic things we have to be grateful for--water, air, and food--are being threatened by the Dakota Access Pipeline."
