Update 6PM Nov 15: GOP Sen Ron Johnson will vote NO

On November 15, the Senate planned to vote on Trump's tax "reform" bill that would raise taxes on the middle class and cut them for the rich. No vote by 6:30PM that day, and at noon protesters were outside the Capitol East Front. Several Democratic members of Congress spoke, so a hefty Capitol Police presence was no surprise but their behavior was another matter. As soon as a known antifa journalist set up a camera on a tripod, police fanned out to surround the crowd.

On the 27th of October, the far-right Heritage Foundation held a pro-corporate event featuring speakers such as Dr. Gary Hufbauer, who gushed over special corporate rights provided by NAFTA. Twice protesters interrrupted the event, focussing on ISDS "investor-state dispute settlement" corporate courts included in NAFTA

On Oct 5, Code Pink protested outside the Embassy of Saudi Arabia. A year ago on the same date, 140 people were killed and 500 wounded by the Saudis when they bombed a funeral in Yemen.

Stickers condemning Jennifer Kerkhoff have appeared in a number of places around DC. She is the vicious prosecutor seeking to imprison 194 remaining DisruptJ20 defendents for 75 years each, and is responsible for Dane Powell having been in jail since July.

On September 15, 2017 at 10:45 in the morning,  Officer Robert Choyce of the Prince William County Police Department fatally shot 15 year old Rubin Urbina yielding a  crowbar.  Choyce fired his weapon twice, striking Rubin in the chest both times.

According to reports, Rubin had called the police on himself as he was struggling with a psychotic episode.When the police arrived, they ordered Rubin to drop a crowbar.  15 year old Rubin did not comply.  The police then shot him.  Rubin died on the scene.

Over the Sep 16-17 weekend, Donald Trump's 5th attempt to replace Obamacare rocketed back into the news, nearing the 50 vote threshold with plans to replace much of Medicaid with block grants to states and huge healthcare budgets cuts. Fearing the worst, protesters are back too. On Sep 19 Planned Parenthood and other groups protested on the east side of the US Capitol

This bill has been called the worst of the Trump healthcare proposals yet, and WTOP Radio reported furious opposition from healthcare providers and their organizations.

On the 27th of August, a major anti-Fascist mobilization in Berkeley, CA succeeded in stopping a planned "America First" alt-right/Nazi rally by occupying the intended site of the racist event. DC activists responding to a national call for solidarity protests held a speak-out at the Albert Pike (Confederate/KKK) next to MPD headquarters.

On the 20th of August at around sunset, protesters showed up yet again in front of Richard Spencer's house on King St in Old Town Alexandria, the one that doubles as the National Policy Institute office. Nazis showed themselves on the roof seeking to film protesters.

As this is being written the absolute monarchy of Saudi Arabia is making final preparations to behead and crucify Shia dissidents for peacefully protesting the armed demolition of their home town of Awamiyah. On the 10th of August, Code Pink showed up outside the Saudi embassy to protest these planned executions, the sort of behavior the US claims only comes from Daesh(ISIS).

The week of solidarity with the J20 defendents continues! On the 25th of June, DropJ20 graffiti was visible at the corner of 12th and I sts NW, scene of some of the most intense action during Trump's inauguration. Elsewhere in town, posters appeared on lamp posts in a classic style showing solidarity with defendents who are at risk for up to 80 years in prison for protesting Trump's inauguration.

The July 20 to 27 week of solidarity continues! As afternoon rush hour started on the 20th, activists hung a banner from the Dupont Circle overpass on Connecticut Ave northbound. The banner read "80 years for protesting Trump? #DropJ20" and showed the umbrella logo of solidarity with those facing decades in prison for daring to oppose the inauguration of Donald Trump. This is but the beginning of a full week of solidarity and direct action.
