The 10th of July was a long day of civil disobedience against Trumpcare, with over 80 arrests in and around the offices of Senator's Flake and Ted Cruz. That same evening, the Democratic Socialists of America marched on the home of Alaska Sen Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), who is believed to be a crucial swing vote on the current Trumpcare bill known as the "Better Care Reconcilation Act."The Democratic Socialists of America are demanding single-payer healthcare but said bluntly that the existing Affordable Care Act is much to be preferred to the mess that Trump is proposing.

On January 20th (J20), the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), indiscriminately kettled and arrested over 230 individuals at a first amendment assembly.  Then, on April 27th, the US Attorney’s office (USAO),  led by Jenny Kerkhoff, secured a supersceding indictment of at least eight identical felony charges against each of the just over 200 individuals, thus tying up hundreds of folks and their support networks for months, if not years, of court battles and proceedings.Adding insult to injury, in the cour

These infrared cameras appear to be the privacy-busting Automatic License Plate Recognition cameras that MPD has installed in a few places around DC. They appear to be near-new devices, implying a spread of the cameras beyond their original locations in such places as the I-395 tunnel under the US Capitol. It is suggested that drivers who regard police databases as a threat avoid the I-395 tunnel and all of its approaches, NY Ave between 9th st NW and N Capitol St, and now Mass Ave between 9th st and N Capitol st as well, plus other nearby streets.

On the 27th of May, US Park Police, some in SWAT uniforms shut down a Black Pride event at Malcolm X Park. Other Black Pride events still going on. Reports on Twitter claim that the Capitol Pride organizers do not consider this incident to be grounds to expel police from marching in the Capitol Pride parade on June 10.

On the 17th of May, DC Reinvest and Rising Hearts Coalition once again showed up in front of the Wells Fargo across 17th st from the White House. They were demanding that Wells Fargo dump the Dakota Access Pipeline and similar pipelines such as the revived Keystone XL. Failing that, they are demanding that the DC Government terminate their business relationship with Wells Fargo and advising depositors to move their money elsewhere. As has become a tradition at the DC Reinvest bank protests, a round dance was held after the speakers finished.

On the 10th of May the DC Bike Party took to the streets again. This ride was themed as the "spy ride" and began just before sunset from Dupont Circle. DC Bike Parties are normally on the 2nd Wednesday of the warmer months, starting 8PM at Dupont Circle. Hundreds of riders usually show up.Video from the May DC Bike Party

The brown shirted "suspected neo-Nazi" who harassed an activist at the Mayday protest on Freedom Plaza has been identified as an undercover cop. He and another undercover cop in similar dress were seen together at the outhouse where pigs rooted through feces to recover a cell phone. The brownshirted undercover who was mistaken for another kind of brown shirt attempted without success to induce an activist to discuss his case with bald-faced lies about the case. The lies told were consistent with those being used by open Nazis and "alt-right" closeted Nazis against the same activist.

Seventeen years ago, huge numbers of protesters and a masked-up Black Bloc protested and fought against corporate power in the streets of DC.An infamous mass arrest came out of a march the day before. Now the IMF and World Bank are meeting this weekend, April 21-23, with their power greatly reduced.

On the 14th of April, the "Tax March Chicken" appeared at Trump Hotel on the eve of the April 15th Tax March. Both the Tax March Chicken and the April 15th march are demanding that Trump release his tax returns so people can see what he is hiding.

On Monday, the 27th of March, the MD General Assembly gave final approval to legislation permanently banning gas fracking in MD. The bill now moves to the governor's desk for signature. Given that it was support from Gov Hogan (under intense public pressure) that got the bill moving in the Senate, the governor is expected to sign the bill into law. This will make MD the 3rd state to ban fracking, in direct defiance of Trump's pro fossil fuel agenda.A great deal of interference against the Trump regime is possible in exactly this way. State bans on fracking.

The warm February and early March in DC this year was followed by snowflakes and a hard freeze just four days before the cherry blossoms were forecast to peak(70% bloom). Those blossoms that were the earliest to open (about half) were killed by the cold and many of these still hang from the trees after turning brown. The other half were not so far along, survived, and are not open. This video shot March 25, the day the blossoms were said to reach peak this year.

Update 3-23 4:30PM: House of Representatives puts off Trumpcare vote due to not enough votes to pass bill. This is the usual way of preventing a bad bill from being voted down outright, just as we saw with last year's failed TPP ratification attempts.

On the 23ed of March, protesters marched on Penn Ave as Congress prepared to vote on "Trumpcare" also known as the AHCA. After a die-in at Trump Hotel protesters marched on the White House. Some then took over the sidewalk in front of the White House in what may be the first civil disobedience at the White House in Trump's term.

On the 21st of March, over 60 congregations came together to launch the DMV Sanctuary Congregation Network. They gathered at Foundry United Methodist Church and marched down 16th st to the White House.

Sanctuary DMV and PICO National Network have come together to create the DMV Sanctuary Congregation Network. This network is asking congregations to take direct action against Trump's racist terror and planned wave of up to 11 million deportations. Organizers published this statement:

Update March 15:FOX Reporter Marina Maracco was identified on March 9 by Black Lives Matter activists as the person behind this sorry excuse for a news report. Activists demand FOX News fire Maracco for this slander, as of March 15 FOX News has yet to comply and should thus be regarded as endorsing all of Maracco's pack of lies about DC protests and protesters.

On the 24th of February, "left-wing operatives" were expelled from CPAC after sucessfully infiltrating this notorious right-wing convention and distributing Russian flags emblazoned with Trump's name. Unaware of the nature or source of the flags, many at the Conservative Political Action Committee or CPAC accepted the flags and began waving them before staffers managed to round them up.

On the 23rd of February, an unusually large crowd of supporters backed up Brookland Manor tenants at and before a zoning hearing. The hearing concerns a proposed redevelopment that would displace larger families and many low income tenants. On the grounds that an injury to one is an injury to all, many groups stood with the tenants. Supporting organizations ran the gamut from One DC to the IWW and many others. After the rally outside, tenants and their supporters packed into the zoning hearing to let the city government know they were not leaving without a fight.

Milo Yiannopoulos' false narratives and liberals cherry picking the left.By Lloyd Hart02/05/2017Milo Yiannopoulos, like most inexperienced intellects propose false narratives too attack ideas like feminism. Milo Yiannopoulos proposes that feminism has become a man oppressing, man hating, angry movement. This of course is a false narrative.

Let's shut it down. We can't keep waiting for the government (Fascists and Democrats) to continue this game while the capitalists sit back and pull in the money. The war on the poor has never stopped. Don't forget all the airport workers who have been on strike for living wages. Many of the workers are immigrants themselves, and have to sleep in the airport because they can't pay transportation to get back home.

At the airport, let's be rowdy, let's cause chaos, let's shut it all down!

Update 11AM:anticapitalist bloc kettled but blockades holding, Mall nearly empty. Chants of "you want a wall you'ge got one!" as Trump supporters (MAGA'ts) turned away.On the 20th of January, protesters managed to get out in the streets and blockade Inaugural checkpoints in spite of a blizzard of harassment from Trump's paid unofficial brownshirts. Police as well were unable to pre-empt lockdowns that shut down multiple Inaugural checkpoints. They had to physically pry SURJ off the fence at one point.
