People were SURFING on Bayshore Drive in Tampa after the storm! Actually more like water skiing, but with a surfboard. Hurricane Idalia served Florida a HUGE lemon, so Tampa made lemonade. On Monday the 28th of August, what was to be a commemoration of MLK's March on Washington in Jacksonville, FL instead turned into a furious protest against Saturday's murders-and of Fl Governor Ron DeSantis. The Governor is being considered responsible for the shootings. He is being called out for all but soliciting the murders with his steady drumbeat of racist laws and propaganda.

On the 26th of August, drag defenders kept a sold-out drag show at Aunt Helen's in Washington DC safe, defeating an attempt by hatemongering street preachers to invade at least their space if not the venue behind them. Defenders deployed umbrellas to shield families with children from the potentially doxxing cameras of the Christian extremist preachers and their allies.

At 8:15 am on August 21, six Declare Emergency supporters went into the road and sat down because they were tired of society ignoring the climate emergency. They disrupted traffic on 12th Street NW and Constitution Ave NW in Washington D.C. to demand that President Biden declare a climate emergency and halt all new fossil fuel projects on Federal and Indigenous lands and waters.

As she spoke, Climate Defiance activsts stood up and interrupted her. They reminded her that the Biden administration is expanding "expanding fossil fuels faster than TRUMP!"

Climate Defiance HALTS play at Citi Open

On the 3ed of August, Climate Defiance got inside the Citibank-sponsored Citi Open tennis match in Washington DC. Once inside, they unfurled banners and tossed oversize mock tennis balls painted in flames onto the field. The entire event had to stop and wait while the mock tennis balls were removed, and security got quite rough with Climate Defiance.

Trump's appearance at DC's E Barret Prettyman Federal courthouse created a circus atmosphere outside, MAGA meatheads protested Trump's indictment for three major felonies stemming from his failed Jan 6 2021 coup attempt. They were in turn counterprotested by DC residents and others who were not pleased to Trumpers return to DC given the known history of violence Nov 14 2020-Jan 6 2021.
