Police evict "Resurrection City II" from Dupont Circle

On the 11th of June, police (presumably US Park Police) evicted the Poor People’s Economic Human Rights Campaign from their "Resurrection City II" encampment in Dupont Circle.Belongings were stolen by police but nobody was arrested. Cops cited "noise complaints" presumably from Dupont area yuppies as their excuse The possiblity also exists this is retaliation for an earlier civil disobedience at HUD-or just to "clean up" Dupont in case Capitols fans went there.

Did MPD march unofficially in 2018 Capitol Pride parade?

The official list of contingents in the 2018 Capitol Pride parade did not include MPD, and there was a long time with nothing on the route before another, different contingent appeared to step off the parade. None the less, David Thurston got a photo of MPD officers escorted by two Pride staffers marching the route, possibly well ahead of the rest of the parade

Second J20 case ends in mixed mistrials and acquittals

On the 4th of June, the first of four defendents in the second J20 trial group was acquitted of all charges, and all charges dropped against the remaining defendents who were to begin trial that day in another trial group. On the 6th of June, another defendent was acquitted of all but one charge, with the jury deadlocked on the final charge of "participating in a riot." On the 7th of June, the third defendent was acquitted of APO and the jury deadlocked on all other charges. Finally, a mistrial was declared on all counts against the fourth and final defendent, the jury deadlocked.

J20 solidarity banner dropped over Route 66 as prosecution gets caught concealing evidence

On May 26, a banner drop over Route 66 in solidarity with the J20 defendents was reported to itsgoingdown.org. On May 23, the chief judge overseeing the J20 cases agreed with defense attorneys that the government had committed a Brady rule violation by concealing a portion of the Veritas tape they plan to use as "evidence" from the defense. Sanctions against the prosecution will be decided on May 31.

Rally and Actions on Eve of next J20 trial demand charges be dropped

On the 11th of May, activists held a protest in Franklin Square park in front of lunchtime yuppies to demand that the US Government drop all charges against all J20 defendents and cancel the trials. The keynote speaker was Chelsea Manning. The night before, DropJ20 tags appeared in Columbia Heights.

On the 18th of April, DC Divest rallied on the steps of the Wilson Building, then packed the room at the DC Council’s CFO Oversight Hearing. They were there to demand that Jack Evans stop holding up a bill to remove the DC government's money from Well Fargo.

Solidarity posters call out literal trumped-up charges against J20 defendents

Another round of solidarity posters for the J20 defendents has appeared around DC, this time showing Donald Trump aiming a pistol at the viewer and warning of literal Trumped-up charges. In other words, it is believed that the decision to file such questionable cases that the first six defendents were acquitted and later trials have been delayed goes right to the top.

Black Lives Matter blockades NY Ave, Chinatown after hearing for killer cop

On the 11th of April, MPD officer Brian Trainer had administrative hearing concerning MPD's internal review board's finding that he should be fired for shooting motorcyclist Terrence Sterling on Sep 11, 2016. The evening after the hearing, Black Lives Matter DC, SURJ-DC, No Justice No Pride, and others blockaded NY Ave and Chinatown to remind Mayor Bowser that letting killer cops walk carries a price tag.
