On the 23ed of February, Russian fascist dictator Putin launched his long-expected invasion of Ukraine. As Ukraine's military and guerilla groups mounted resistance to the invasion, protesters gathered from Moscow to Washington DC to oppose this assault. In DC, protests have been taking place at the White House every day, with big ones on weekends. Still more protests have been taking place at the Russian Embassy.

Late afternoon on Feb 23, three vehicles of Bob Bolus's convoy to "Washington" (actually the Beltway) arrived in the DC area. There had been 8 earlier but two flat tires delayed their departure and traffic obstructed the convoy instead of the other way around. They had the usual anti-vax and pro-Trump flags and signs. The three vehicles that made it to the last I-95 rest stop before DC were one semi, one pickup truck, and one SUV-that's IT.

On Jan 15, the Spanish (original colonizer) oil company Repsol spilled over 6,000 barrels of oil in a Peruvian port after waves from the distant Tonga volcanic eruption rocked their tanker in port while unloading oil. Peruvians have been protesting Repsol ever since, demanding accountability. One of these protests took place on Feb 13 at the Embassy of Peru here in Washington DC.

On the 5th of February, Code Pink held a nationwide series of rallies against increasingly likely war between the US and Russia over Ukraine. One of these rallies was directly in front of the White House.
