DC March for Jeruselem condemns Trump's plans to move US Embassy

On the 16th of December, what may have been the largest march for Palestine in years in DC began at the Ellipse and ended at the US Capitol. The rallies and march condemned both Trump for announcing plans to move the US Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem and Congress for submitting the bill treating Jerusalem as the Capitol of Israel to the White House every year since 1996. Trump was the first President to sign this dangerous, warmongering bill.

Protest held against NPS deer slaughter in Rock Creek Park

On the 15th of December, protesters gathered at the intersection of Military Road and Oregon Ave to oppose the shooting of deer in Rock Creek Park by the National Park Service. NPS has been having deer shot by USDA APHIS Wildlife Services (WS) since 2013, over the heated objections of many who live near the park and other area residents.

Rising Hearts hoaxes Washington Football Team with name change to Redhawks

On the 14th of February, Rising Hearts Coalition spread a story that the Washington Football Team has finally agreed to ditch their racist name and mascot, replacing them with "Washington Redhawks."

FCC votes 3-2 to scrap net neutrality after mass rally in front of their HQ

On the 14th of December, the FCC voted 3-2 to scrap all net neutrality protections. Both of the dissenting FCC commissioners spoke at a mass rally in front of the FCC prior to the vote. Lawsuits are now being filed to halt the revocation of net neutrality. If the lawsuits fail, you may need to buy a video upgrade to your Internet service or use Torbrowser to bypass your carrier's restrictions to watch video on this site.

Charlotttesville car attack victims resisting grand jury subpoenas

On the morning of December 13, a Federal grand jury met in Virginia concerning the events of Aug 12 in Charlottesville, where one person was killed and 19 wounded by neo-Nazi car driver James Fields. Now the survivers of the attack are being harassed by prosecutors and grand jury subpeonas. Activists are advising refusal to testify as the grand jury could be also seeking to charge counterprotesters. One person who managed to get her subpoeona quashed spoke outside the courthouse saying "I will not be bullied."

ACLU delivers 50,000 drop J20 petitions to US attys office

On the 11th of December, the ACLU and several other groups delivered 50,000 signed petitions to the US Attorney's office at 555 4th st demanding that all charges from the Inauguration protests be dropped. The petitions more generally demand that the US attorney's office stop criminalizing dissent. None of the six defendents whose trials continue this week are alleged to have committed any individualized unlawful acts, only collective guilt for the acts of others.

Prayer vigil and protest held at White House against Trump moving US Embassy to Jerusalem

On Friday, December 8 protesters gathered in front of the White House to protest Trump's reckless decision to treat Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and move the US Embassy there. Protesters were mostly Muslism but Christians, Jews, and members of other faiths also were present in solidarity with hard-pressed Palestinians.

Net Neutrality activists protest swanky dinner for FCC Chairman Pai

On the 7th of December, FCC Chairman Agit Pai was the guest of dishonor at a swanky dinner held at the Hilton on Connecticut Ave. Protesters outside shouted disapproval. Pai is a former Verizon lobbyist now seeking to dismantle all vestiges of Internet neutrality now that he's at the FCC. In addition to this protest there were protests at Verizon stores all over the US.

#NoBanNoWall protest as US Supreme Court opposes Trump's Muslim Ban

On the 7th of December, protesters gathered at the US Supreme Court in opposition to the recent decision to allow Trump's Muslim travel Ban to go into entirely into effect while the courts debate the ban's merits or lack therof.
