G20 Discusses Preventing Financial Crisis and Small Island Economies

President Trump arrived in Buenos Aires on Thursday for the annual G20 meetings. While trade, climate and tensions with Russia dominated press coverage ahead of the meetings, financial crisis concerns are taking center stage during the two-day meetings. The International Monetary Fund released a series of reports in October warning new financial crisis could be on the horizon."The concerns are whether or not we've done enough to prevent the next financial crisis," stated Jubilee USA Executive Director Eric LeCompte who monitors the G20 and serves on UN finance expert groups.

Ted Glick and BXE disrupt Senate committee vote on Trump's FERC nominee

On the 27th of November, a Senate committee pushed through a vote on Bernard McNamee’s nomination to the Federal Energy Regulatory Committee (FERC), ignoring minority party opposition from Democrats. Beyond Extreme Energy (BXE) disrupted the vote, and BXE member Ted Glick was arrested after standing up and shouting "“ Bernard is a fossil fuel extremist. Bernard McNamee! Remember California! Remember Houston! Remember Puerto Rico! No on McNamee!"

Protesters gather at Tanzanian Embassy in response to new persecution of GLBTQ people

On the 28th of November, protesters gathered outside the Embassy of Tanzania(Tanzania House) in response to a "crackdown" on GLBTQ folks that has included arrests and calls for mass roundups. The arrests are under an over century old law originally written by British colonizers.

Deer shot in Rock Creek Park Nov 26, 27, and 29th

On the evening of Monday Nov 26, sawhorses and park service workers were spotted in one of rhe usual locations where "deer removal" shooting takes place on Oregon Ave on the Rock Creek side shortly after 7PM. South of military road, park roads excluding Beach Drive were blocked off with sawhorses and park service vehicles including trucks big enough to move dead deer were behind some of the barricades.All of the same positions were set up again the following night and two nights later(Nov 27 and 29).

US police or military fires tear gas at migrants at border, direct hit wounds young girl

On the 25th of November, @CosechaMovement reported that a young girl took a direct hit from a tear gas canister fired by US law enforcement or military at migrants seeking asylum at the Tijuana border crossing. The hatred and violence of racist Donald Trump has now critically wounded a young girl because Donald Trump only wants white immigrants (he said Norway) to cross the illegitimate, settler-drawn borders of the so-called "United States."

Debt and Tax Policies Needed to Prevent Crisis Says Finance Watchdog Group

Financial institutions, experts and economists fear a new wave of financial crises hitting countries from Ghana to Italy. The IMF and World Bank warn that nearly 20 African economies are wrestling with debt crises and on Wednesday the European Union chastised Italy on its debt-laden budget."Growing debt crises and the inability of countries to meet the social needs of their people is very concerning," stated Eric LeCompte who serves on United Nation finance expert groups and is the Executive Director of Jubilee USA.

On Nov 19th the lighted sign behind the protest read "BONESAW" as protesters hammered Donald Trump for refusing to listen to tapes of Jemal Khashoggi's murder and refused to listen to evidence from his own CIA that the Saudi crown prince ordered the murder.

Philly cops aggressively protect fascist "Proud Boys" rally from #Pushback counterprotest

On the 17th of November, a front group for the Proud Boys held a "We the People" rally in Philadelphia. Also present were the Keystone State Skinheads and 3%er militia elements. A much larger counterprotest confronted them. Unfortunately, other fascists wearing badges and police uniforms used great effort to protect their comrades in the rally. Puerto Rico Religious Leaders Criticize Debt Plans and Negotiations

Puerto Rico's Catholic Archbishop and an Evangelical leader who heads the island's bible society criticized a debt agreement and ongoing debt negotiations. "We are strongly opposed to the COFINA debt deal," wrote the religious leaders in a statement referencing a recently approved plan on a type of debt backed by sales taxes. The plan was approved by Puerto Rico's government and oversight board and covers about $17 billion of the total $72 billion debt of the US Territory.
