Kremlin Annex/impeachment protest draws crowd evening after redacted Mueller report released

On the 18th of April, the long-awaited Mueller report on the Trump/Russia affair was released in a redacted form. Again, as in the summary the report claims no collusion between Trump and Russian agents seeking to interfere in the 2016 election. Protesters at the White House disputed this report, claiming Attorney General Bob Barr cooked the report to ensure this conclusion and should be impeached alongside Trump.

Beyond Extreme Energy drops banner, disrupts FERC meeting

On the 18th of April, two activists from Beyond Extreme Energy scaled the headquarters of FERC and dropped a banner from the awning. Others inside disrupted FERC's monthly meeting, at which gas and fracking eminent domain projects are normally rubber stamped

8 arrests at Extinction Rebellion "Climate Games" at GOP headquarters

On the 16th of April, the Extinction Rebellion showed up in front of Republican Party headquarters just S of the US Capitol. Extinction Rebellion blocked off First Street and began setting up for the "Climate Games" pitting Team Earth against Team Greed. Capitol Police pounced almost immediately, making 8 arrests within five minutes of their first warning and disrupting the Games.

Protesters show up at UK Embassy after arrest of Julian Assange

On the 11th of April, British police "forcibly removed" and arrested Julian Assange on an extradition warrant from the United Snakes after the government of Ecuador cravenly gave them a green light. That afternoon, protesters showed up at UK embassies all over the world. One of the protests was here in DC. Protesters are demanding that Assange (of Wikileaks) be released and NOT be extradicted to the US.

Somalia Leaders Call for Debt Cancellation

In Somalia, 60 percent of the 15 million person population lives in extreme poverty. According to the United Nations Development Programme almost 10 million people live in extreme poverty or close to poverty in Somalia while the war-torn African nation wrestles with a $4.6 billion debt.

Climate First! disrupts Wells Fargo branch over fossil fuel investments

On the 10th of April, Climate First! disrupted business at a Wells Fargo branch a few blocks north of the White House. Wells Fargo is one of the world's largest investors in climate-killing fossil fuels. After two activists delivered a demands letter to the branch manager, the rest of the protesters rushed into the lobby with a banner and loud chants.

IMF Warns of Global Financial Crisis Risk

Washington DC - For the second day in a row, the International Monetary Fund raised concerns of pending financial crisis. Ahead of the Spring IMF and World Bank meetings, the IMF released the Global Financial Stability Report, warning of "vulnerabilities" in corporate debt, house values and sovereign (country) debt."We are seeing some of same conditions that created the 2008 financial crisis and the IMF worries that we are not doing enough to prevent the next financial crisis," stated Jubilee USA Executive Director Eric LeCompte who monitors IMF reports.
