On the 11th of June, the Capitol Pride march returned to DC, this time marching to the streets next to P st Beach rather than starting there. At Dupont Circle, the same "ex-Gay and "Ex-trans" fundamentalist Christians who harassed the parade last year were back, again hiding behind the cops. In a longstanding pattern, there were way too many corporate floats in the parade, though also some explicitly political contingents. At one point, PSL's contingent chanted "you say Stonewall, we say riot!" This is a reminder to the growing theocratic menace in the US that many will not peacefully submit to any recriminalization of GLBTQ lives.

On the 9th of June, protesters again returned to the confy Virginia home of Supreme Court "Justice" Amy Coney Barrett. Barrett formerly held the title of "handmaid" in the People of Praise far-right religious cult. This time around, a "reporter" from FOX News showed up, behaved in an extremely unprofessional and confrontational manner, and left when nobody would talk to him.

When traveling to Ukraine, among the essentials I pack is a small, rolled-up image my 'tato' (father) sketched in 1950 that he called 'memories of Batkivshchyna' or 'homeland.' 

The picture of a quaint village was based on Bohdan Bociurkiw's memories of living in western Ukraine as a student and scholar, shortly after he left a refugee camp in Europe and migrated to Canada in 1947.

On the 8th of June, thunderstorms,heavy security, and the day's earlier drama all failed to deter peaceful protesters from showing up at the home of Supreme Court "Justice" and rapist Kavanagh and his co-conspirator "Justice" Roberts. The protesters were there to do exactly one thing: name and shame Kavanaugh and Roberts for their crimes.

Extinction Rebellion takes over DC Council in full hazmat suits against gas project

On the 7th of June, Extinction Rebellion DC activists in full hazmat suits took over the DC Council chamber while the council was in session.They used a loudspeaker to play Antonio Guterres's speech before the UN demanding an end to investments in new fossil fuel infrastructure, then chanted "DMV, gas free!"

Trump's name GONE from Old Post Office building

In Spring 2022, Trump threw in the hotel towel in DC, selling his hotel lease to an investor's group from Miami. As of June 2022, his ugly name is finally GONE from the facade of the Old Post Office Building. After years of fighting and a year of relative peace, the presence of Trump has been removed from Penn Ave.

On the 6th of June, pro-choice activists returned to the VA home of antichoice SCOTUS "Justice" Samuel Alito. This time around, Alito had a "Freedom" flag commonly seen at far-right rallies on the flagpole outside his house, easily identifying his residence. To fly such a flag while trying to take freedom away from all women in the US is the height of hypocrisy.

Solo pro-choice activist locks down to SCOTUS fence as antichoice protesters scream

The Supreme Court was widely expected to release their Dobbs (abortion) decision on Monday, June 6 but did not. Antichoice protesters were chomping at the bit, showing up in front of the Court. To their surprise a single pro-choice activist upstaged all of them by hopping the low barrier and locking himself to the high fence. All the antis could do was scream and try to dominate audio tracks.

On the 5th of June, Pro and Cat 1 (top amateur) bike racing again came to Claredon, VA. The race, known also as the Armed Forces Cycling Classic, has Boeing as the top sponsor. This is interesting given that bicycles are known for not using fossil fuels and Boeing's products both military and commerical are some of the biggest fuel users on Earth.

Neil Gorsuch is one of the "SCOTUS 6" preparing a formal vote to overturn Roe v Wade. He is also in a stolen seat, thanks to Mitch McConnell blocking Obama's last year SCOTUS appointment. Neil lives in an expensive community with private roads off River Road in MD. On Sat, the 4th of June, protesters arrived on River Road but had to protest at the entrance to the entire community due to a police blockade.

During the Thursday, June 2 pro-choice protest at the home of Supreme Court "Justice" Amy Coney Barrett, a racist neighbor of hers tried to demand that a Black activist on the bullhorn "speak English." This was the second time in the same protest she made that demand.
