Greenpeace protests to demand a NO decision on Arctic drilling by Obama

On the 24th of March, Greenpeace staged a protest in front of the White House to demand that Obama reject any expansion of oil drilling in the Arctic. This protest was held as Obama's decision could now come at any time. Like the Keystone KX, this decision pits the survival of Indigenous people and untold numbers of animal species against the profits of hugely rich multinational oil companies.

The 19th of March marked the 12th anniversary of the first day of George W Bush's invasion. The day the war began, protesters in DC blocked Key Bridge in a combined foot-bike operation. There have been protests on that day most years since, and 2015 was no exception. With war and dirty trade deals again leading threats, protests popped up all over DC. One of them, the "Spring Rising" bus tour of warmongers, ran into significant police harassment at the Pentagon.

DC Ferguson packs Council oversight hearing on MPD to oppose jumpouts

On the 10th of March, DC Ferguson activists packed a DC Council Judiciary Committee oversight hearing on MPD. They were there to demand nothing less than a complete end to "jump-out" police tactics that terrorize communities of color in DC. Former cops testified that their training justified any and all police shootings, and someone named Trayvon White said cops are even conducting cavity searches during those jump-outs. A jump-out is when cops swarm out of unmarked cars with the intent of initimidating someone into consent to a search.

Zionists assault cameraman at final protest of Nehtanyahu's speech

On the 3rd of March, under freezing rain, Jewish Voices for Peace and other groups staged a final protest against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Nehtanyahu's warmongering speech. One speaker cited a former Mossad chief as bluntly calling the conflict with Palestine the number one threat to Israel, not Iran's nuclear program. Nehtanyahu's speech seems aimed at sabotaging Obama's negotiations with Iran over nuclear energy and forcing war.

During the protest, two supporters of Israel waded into the crowd, argued with a number of people, then suddenly charged out of the crowd and attempted to destory a camera used by an Indymedia cameraman. Their attempt to destroy the camera failed.
